Miss Giovanna Corosu left Naples and was on her way to Buffalo, NY to live with her sister Julia. Giovanna was playing cards on the Upper Deck when the collsion occured. Giovanna recollects "While waiting to be rescued, we prayed the Rosary. (Mrs. Antonina Errante, myself and others.) I lowered myself into a lifeboat with the rope provided. Went into the ship Thomas and watched the Andrea Doria take its last breath."
